Philadelphia School District Violated Rights Of Over 800 Incoming Kindergarten Students With Disabilities
On October 6, 2017, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) said the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) had violated the rights of at least 800 incoming kindergarten students with disabilities transitioning from early intervention services to school services. PDE says the district failed to conduct timely evaluations to assess what services they may need.
