Physician Burnout Rates Declined Between 2021 & 2023
In 2023, a smaller percentage of physicians reported experiencing at least one symptom of burnout compared to 2021—45.2% versus 62.8%, according to a recent report. Physician satisfaction with work-life integration was higher in 2023 than in 2021, at 42.2% compared to 30.3%. However, compared to other workers, the risk of burnout for physicians is 1.82 times higher, and satisfaction with work-life balance is lower, at 0.59 of the satisfaction level of other workers.
