Physicians In New York & Indiana To Add 5-Minute Alzheimer’s Screening Tool To Workflow To Improve Screening Rates & Equity

Physicians in New York and Indiana will add the new five-minute "5-Cog Screening" tool for Alzheimer’s disease to their standard examination process workflow. The new screening tool was designed for people from a range of racial and ethnic backgrounds, education levels and socioeconomic circumstances. The tool is intended to reduce disparities in pre-dementia and dementia diagnosis and treatment, as well as improving dementia care overall. The U.S. National Institutes of Health has awarded $11 million for a collaborative effort to evaluate the "5-Cog Screening" test.
