Portland, Oregon, To Pilot ‘Tiny Home’ Project For Homeless Families

Multnomah County, Oregon, and the City of Portland are preparing to pilot a housing program for homeless families that will place them in “tiny homes” sited on property owned by volunteer residential homeowners. The county hopes to launch the five-year pilot during the summer of 2017 with four homes. The goals are to reduce the cost of housing and to reduce the time needed to place homeless families in housing.
