Prescribing Changes Reduce Potential Opioid Overuse Under Primary Care Plus Model
Practices participating in the Medicare Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) demonstration reduced the average dosage and the number of days' supply of opioids relative to comparison practices. The article discussed that across both the CPC+ practices and a group of comparison practices, potential opioid overuse declined from 19% in 2016 to 12% in 2021.
