Prevalence Rates Of Adverse Childhood Experiences Among Adolescents Remained Stable From 2016-2023
The prevalence of potentially traumatic adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) among youth ages 12 to 17 remained stable between 2016 through 2023, according to a recent study. Over the period, the prevalence of reported ACEs varied by less than 2%. The prevalence of youth who reported having positive childhood experiences (PCEs) varied by less than 7% during the same period. PCEs are experiences that engage the parent or child to achieve positive health outcomes.
