Private Equity Firms Invest Record $151 Billion In Health Care Sector
Private equity firms across the world posted a record $151 billion in health care acquisition activity in 2021. This is an approximately 128.8% increase over the $66 billion in health care deal activity in 2020. The two largest health care deals in 2021 were the $34 billion purchase of Medline by Blackstone, Carlyle and Hellman & Friedman; and the $17 billion purchase of athenahealth by Hellman & Friedman and Bain Capital.
