Colorado Legislature Moves Forward With Bill To Create A Behavioral Health Administration
On March 2, 2022, the Colorado legislature began deliberations on a bill introduced to create a new behavioral health administration (BHA) as proposed in January 2022 by Governor Jared Polis. The legislation, Colorado House Bill 1278 (HB 1278), received its first hearing on April 1, 2022. The new BHA is expected to be established by July 1, 2022, and to be fully formed by 2024. Governor Polis appointed Morgan Medlock, M.D., MPH, MDiv to lead the BHA.
