Psychiatrist Jobs Projected To Increase By 8% By 2033 With Highest Predicted 10-Year Job Growth Rate Of Physicians
Jobs for psychiatrists in the U.S. are projected to increase by 8% between 2023 and 2033, from 27,000 in 2023 to 29,100 in 2033, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). For all physicians and surgeons, the BLS projects that job growth will increase by 4% between 2023 and 2033. The BLS said the higher job growth for psychiatrists is due to improved access to mental health services and growing demand for psychiatric care.
Over the decade, the number of self-employed psychiatrists is projected to decline by 8.4%, from 3.5% of the psychiatrist . . .
