Psychologists Reporting Never Using AI Assistance With Their Practices Fell From 71% In 2024 To 44% In 2025

While psychologists in the United States are increasingly adopting artificial intelligence (AI) tools, they have concerns, according to the 2025 Practitioner Pulse Survey by the American Psychological Association (APA) and its companion organization, APA Services Inc.

The portion of psychologists who reported never using AI assistance with their practices fell to 44% in 2025, down from 71% in 2024. Nearly one-third of respondents (29%) reported using AI on at least a monthly basis—more than twice as many as in 2024 (11%).
