Mental Health Professionals Who Are Independent Contractors Are Less Knowledgeable About EBPs Than Employed Professionals
Clinical mental health professionals working as independent contractors for public mental health clinics are less knowledgeable about evidence-based practices (EBPs) for youth than those that are employed by public mental health clinics. Independent contractors also hold less positive attitudes towards EBPs. Community mental health clinics that rely on independent contractors, rather than salaried therapists, may be less able to implement EBPs than clinics that have salaried therapists.
