Optometry-Based Early Alzheimer’s Screening Model To Be Implemented In Toronto
During the summer of 2022, Toronto Memory Program and RetiSpec will launch a 12-month initiative in Toronto, Canada to screen for early Alzheimer’s disease in community settings through a collaboration between optometry clinics and an Alzheimer’s advocacy organization. The project features a unique community-based screening through two bidirectional points of entry for screening— optometry clinics and the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. The project aims to increase rates of cognitive screening, early detection, and accurate diagnosis.
