Review Finds Limited Evidence For Cannabis In Treating Mental Health Disorders
Medical cannabis products show limited evidence of effectiveness in treating most mental health and substance use disorders, according to a pooled analysis of 54 studies.
Across the studies, which included 2,477 participants, use of cannabinoids—including cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)—was not associated with significant reductions in symptoms for conditions such as anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychotic disorders, anorexia nervosa, or opioid use disorder.
