Rio Grande Neurosciences Acquires Cervel Multi-Coil TMS Technology For Depression Treatment
On October 20, 2015, Rio Grande Neurosciences (RGN) announced it had acquired Cervel Neurotech’s multi-coil repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) technology for treatment of drug-resistant depression. The acquisition included all related patent applications, issued patents, trademarks, and equipment. RGN added the Cervel rTMS technology to its core suite of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) electroceuticals to treat central nervous system conditions, with a focus on brain trauma and neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases. Financial details about the acquisition have not been disclosed.
