Seattle Plans New Navigation Center & ‘Housing First’ Approach To Reduce Homelessness
The City of Seattle, Washington is planning to open a new homelessness Navigation Center, and expand access to permanent supportive housing based on the “Housing First” model as part of its broad plan to reduce homelessness in the city. The model is based on a Navigation Center operated in the City of San Francisco, California.
The city released a request for proposals for the Navigation Center on August 26, 2016. The contract is valued at $1.67 million. Proposals were due by September 27, 2016. The city accepted applications from non-profit organizations and federally recognized native tribes. Awards announcements . . .
