Telehealth Parent Coaching Program Improves Outcomes For Children With Autism
An online parent coaching intervention for parents of children diagnosed with autism was effective when used for self-paced learning. The intervention, called ImPACT Online, was even more effective when combined with therapist coaching provided via telehealth technology. Parents who used only the self-directed program and parents who also received therapist coaching improved their intervention fidelity, self-efficacy, stress management, and positive perceptions of their child. ImPACT Online targets social communication using naturalistic, developmental-behavioral intervention on key parent and child outcomes.
