Service Use By Adults With Autism Varies By Living Situation
Adults with autism have different levels of service use that varies, depending on whether they live with their families, live independently, or in a supported living facility. Among adults with autism living with family, service use was lower than those in the other two settings and lower than average. Unmet need was higher, and caregivers for those living at home reported more obstacles to accessing services. About 63% of caregivers for adults living at home said more services were needed.
