Slow Progress To Improve Safety For New Mexico DD Waiver Participants
A review of New Mexico’s oversight of safety for people participating in the state’s Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver and Mi Via program found slow progress during 2024 in the state’s efforts to meet recommendations issued in 2023 to correct deficiencies. The recommendations were issued following an investigation of five incidents of serious abuse and neglect, some of which resulted in death.
