Smartphone App Lowers Hospital Readmission Rates For Heart Attack Survivors
A smartphone digital health intervention (DHI) called "Corrie" is associated with lower hospital readmission rates for survivors of heart attacks. Those using the Corrie DHI had a 52% lower rate of hospital readmission within the first 30 days of discharge for a heart attack, compared to those receiving standard aftercare following a heart attack. Those using the Corrie DHI had a 6.5% all-cause 30-day readmission rate, while those receiving standard care had a 16.8% all-cause 30-day readmission rate.
