South Carolina Receives CMS Approval Of Temporary HCBS Rate Increases
South Carolina Medicaid received approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to temporarily raise home- and community-based services (HCBS) reimbursement rates. The approval, announced on March 29, 2022, allows the state to amend multiple Medicaid HCBS waivers to include Emergency Preparedness and Response Appendix K. This Appendix K request addresses temporary rate increases for identified services in the following waivers: Community Choices (CC), Community Supports (CS), Head and Spinal Cord Injury (HASCI), HIV/AIDS (HIV), Mechanical Ventilator (Vent), Intellectual Disability/Related Disabilities (ID/RD), and Medically Complex Children (MCC).
