Supreme Court Narrows Medicaid Beneficiary Right To Sue To Enforce ‘Free Choice Of Provider’ Provisions
On June 26, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Medicaid beneficiaries lack standing to sue states to enforce the Medicaid Act’s “free choice of provider” provision if a state chooses not to permit a provider organization to participate. The ruling was in Medina v. Planned Parenthood of the South Atlantic. ;
