Tampering With Workforce Drug Tests Up More Than 600% In 2023
The percentage of workforce drug tests with signs of tampering increased 633% between 2022 and 2023, according to an analysis of nearly 9.8 million workforce drug tests conducted by Quest Diagnostics. During 2022, about 0.015% of workforce urine drug tests were substituted. In 2023, substitution affected 0.11% of tests. Invalid urine specimens in the general U.S. workforce increased 45.2%, from 0.31% in 2022 to 0.45% in 2023.
