Tennessee Medicaid Launches Telemedicine Service For People With Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
On October 13, 2020, the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) announced a partnership with StationMD to provide telemedicine services for DIDD consumers living in an intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual disability (ICF/IID) or in the community. The service is available 24-hours a day/7-days a week to act as an additional resource to the individual’s usual source of medical care. The goal is to help consumers avoid emergency department visits.
