Texas DFPS Awards Two Community-Based Care Contracts For Foster Care & Kinship Care Services

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is expanding privatized community-based foster care to two new regions during 2023. On February 22, 2023, DFPS awarded two community-based care contracts to EMPOWER and 4Kids4Families. Beginning March 1, 2023, the Office of Community-Based Care Transition (OCBCT), along with DFPS began coordinating with the new contractors to prepare to receive their first child placement referrals in early fall 2023.
