On June 13, 2019, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) awarded Saint Francis Ministries a contract to become the selected Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) that will develop a local foster care continuum network in Region 1, which includes 41 counties in the panhandle of the state. As the SSCC, Saint Francis will receive a blended rate to cover all foster care costs for children in this region referred by DFPS. The contract, worth approximately $35 million annually, is effective July 1, 2019 with a tentative go-live date in January of 2020.
