Texas Is Meeting Under 10% Of Local Demand For Treatment Family Foster Care Beds
The Texas foster care system currently meets less than 10% of local demand for treatment family foster care (TFFC) beds and psychiatric transition beds, according to a recent capacity assessment by the Department for Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Both TFFC and Qualified Residential Treatment Programs (QRTP) are relatively new programs in Texas. They are currently in open enrollment to build capacity.
