Texas Medicaid To Pilot LTSS Managed Care Carve-In For I/DD

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) announced a plan for the STAR+PLUS Pilot Program (SP3) to test a managed care model that carves in long-term services and supports (LTSS) for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), traumatic brain injuries (TBI), acquired brain injuries (ABI) and similar functional needs. The two-year pilot will begin by September 1, 2023, in one of the following Texas Medicaid managed care service areas: Bexar, Tarrant, or Medicaid Rural Service Area Northeast.
