Texas Pauses Foster Care Redesign Procurement For Northwestern Region
In March 2017, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) paused its procurement for a foster care redesign single source continuum contractor (SSCC) for 30 counties in the Northwest region of the state. DFPS has released little information about the pause; however, local news articles reported that the current procurement has been paused to investigate whether an employee had a conflict of interest that contaminated the bid process. The reports cited a letter to bidders, which said the contract was on hold “due to a possible issue with the evaluation process.”
