Texas Preparing To Add New Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy To HCBS Program, Effective April 1, 2014

On April 1, 2014, Texas Medicaid will add cognitive rehabilitation therapy and employment assistance to the services available through its home and community based services (HCBS) waiver program. In addition, nursing, supported employment, employment assistance, and cognitive rehabilitation therapy will be available through the Texas Medicaid consumer-directed services option. Effective February 3, 2014, these services became available for inclusion on the Client Assignment and Registration (CARE) System individual plan of care (IPC) screen for individual plans of service (IPS) that have an effective or renewal date on or after April 1, 2014.
