Texas Rebids Medicaid Managed Care Program For Foster Care Youth
On October 4, 2021, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) released a request for proposals (RFP HHS0010427) for the procurement of Texas STAR Health, the state’s Medicaid managed care program for children and young adults in foster care. Historically, this contract has been valued $361 million annually. Responses are due by December 6, and awards anticipated by June 2022. The contract is anticipated to start in August 2022. The initial six-year term will be followed by three two-year renewal options.
