On November 20, 2020, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) issued a request for public comment regarding a proposed Best Value Criteria for the state’s upcoming STAR health managed care procurement. HHSC will use the Best Value Criteria to evaluate and select the successful respondent. A timeline for the procurement/implementation process is not yet available. STAR health provides health care to children and young adults in foster care with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, as well as other members of the target population.
