Texas To Expand Community-Based Child Welfare To Four New Catchment Areas

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is expanding its community-based child welfare model to four new catchment areas: 6A, 6B, 8A, and 10. On February 29, 2024, the DFPS Office of Community-Based Care Transition released a request for applications (RFA HS0013421) with responses due by May 1, 2024. The contracts are slated to start September 1, 2024, and will run for five years, with the option of one five-year renewal.
