Louisiana Department Of Health Launches Tiered Program To Prioritize The I/DD Waiver Wait List

On July 16, 2018, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) announced the launch of a new Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS) tiered waiver that prioritizes the waiver wait list for individuals with intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD). The new approach prioritizes the wait list by the person’s level of need. Previously, people who registered to join the waiting list were awarded service slots on a first-come first-served basis; their level of need was not considered.
