Treating Obesity & Type 2 Diabetes Reduced Kidney Disease By 62%
Participants in a metabolic care program for type 2 diabetes and obesity/overweight had a 36% lower risk of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD) compared to a matched group who received usual care. Participants also had a 43% lower risk of developing CKD stage 3 or higher and a 62% lower risk of developing CKD stage 4 or higher.
