Type 2 Diabetes Diagnosis At Age 30 Can Reduce Life Expectancy By Up To 14 Years
Worldwide, people in 19 high-income countries who were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at age 30 had shorter life expectancy, reduced by up to 14 years. People diagnosed at age 50 had life expectancy reduced by up to six years. Every decade of earlier diagnosis of diabetes was associated with life expectancy three to four years lower than for people without diabetes.
