UC Davis MIND Institute Launches Pilot For A New Supported Employment Model For Young Adults With Autism Or Mild Intellectual Disabilities
The UC Davis MIND Institute is piloting a new supported employment model for young adults with autism and those with intellectual disabilities (ID). The model is called Individualized Placement and Support (IPS), which has been successfully used to support employment in other conditions but has not been widely used with individuals with autism and those with mild ID. For the 18-month pilot, the UC Davis MIND Institute is partnering with four Sacramento-area supported employment agencies: InAlliance, On My Own Community Services, and TKMomentum, and PRIDE Industries.
