Unemployment Among Young Adult Cancer Survivors Tied To Worse Quality of Life
In a study of young adult cancer survivors, unemployment was associated with self-reported adverse physical health, mental health, and well-being. Returning to work after completion of therapy is an important milestone for previously employed survivors, but some younger adult survivors may have difficulties finding or maintaining employment, the study stated. These findings underscore the need for interventions to improve the work status and the quality of life of young adult cancer survivors, the study stated.
