Uninsured Rate Remains Steady At 8% Between 2022 & 2023
An estimated 26.4 million or 8.0% of U.S. residents did not have health insurance at any point during 2023, which was just 0.1 percentage point higher than in 2022. The remaining 92.0% of U.S. residents had insurance for either the entire year, or for some portion, of 2023. The uninsured rate for children under the age of 19 increased by 0.5 percentage points to 5.8% between 2022 and 2023.
