UnitedHealthcare To Increase Reliance On Digital Device Data For Medicare Advantage Chronic Disease Management
On February 20, 2019, UnitedHealthcare announced it would use data from consumer digital health devices to create health profiles to help its Medicare Advantage members manage chronic health conditions. The health profiles are used by UnitedHealthcare navigators for the Navigate4Me program, which provides personalized, holistic support for UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare Advantage members.
The data can come from digital devices such as Bluetooth-enabled tablets, scales, and blood pressure monitors used by people with congestive heart failure; or connected glucose monitors, smartphones, and fitness trackers used by people with diabetes.
