The best state with the most factors in place to support healthy aging is Utah. Mississippi ranked last among the 50 states for healthy aging. Healthy aging is defined as having a better quality of life through the presence of various external factors and personal lifestyle choices that promote health, well-being, and long-term independence. The states were ranked on a scale ranging from 100 points to 0 points. The 19 states with scores below 50.00 were considered “low quality” states for healthy aging.
