On October 31, 2022, the Utah Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced that it will replace the Utah Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) with the new Provider Reimbursement Information System for Medicaid (PRISM) in 2023. While PRISM existed in the form of a “Provider Enrollment” platform in 2016, the state now aims to create an online claims database for provider organizations. The goal is to create an online cloud database for the state’s claims records.
