Vermont DMH Announces Collaboration With Crisis Text Line

The Vermont Department of Mental Health (DMH) announced a collaboration with the national Crisis Text Line that started in November 2016. Through this collaboration, the Crisis Text Line volunteer counselors will respond to state residents who text that they are experiencing a crisis, and the organization will share de-identified crisis trend data with DMH. To use the service, Vermont residents can text VT to 741741 so that the Crisis Text Line counselor will be aware that the user is in Vermont and offer supports to help resolve the crisis and/or make a plan for the individual.
