Vermont To Launch All-Payer ACO System In January 2017
Vermont is launching its all-payer Accountable Care Organization (ACO) model in January 2017. The all-payer ACO will involve Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health payers. Each payer will use the same payment structure for the majority of provider organizations throughout the state’s care delivery system. The goal is to incentivize value and quality, with a focus on health outcomes in terms of improving access to primary care, reducing deaths due to suicide and drug overdose, and reducing the prevalence and morbidity of chronic disease.
