Vermont School Districts Without Public Schools Can Use Public Funds To Pay Tuition For Students To Attend Religious Schools
On September 13, 2022, the Vermont Agency of Education notified sent a notice to certain local school district superintendents that the school district cannot deny payment to religious schools. These notifications were sent to superintendents in towns without a public elementary or secondary school in which students are permitted to use public funds to pay tuition at a religous public or private school if that religious school is approved by the state as meeting educational quality standards.
