Veteran Homelessness Down 11% Since 2020

On November 3, 2022, the federal Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) reported that since 2020, the number of homeless veterans has declined by 11%. In the single night point-in-time (PIT) count of homelessness, which took place in January 2022, there were 33,136 veterans experiencing homelessness. In the January 2020 PIT count, there were 37,252 homeless veterans. No full PIT count took place in 2021. Since 2010, the number of homeless veterans has declined by 55.3%.
