Veterans Administration Puts Community Care Network Contracts Out To Bid

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is rebidding its Community Care Network (CCN) contracts with health plans to serve as regional third-party administrators. Through this program, veterans can access health care services through participating community-based provider organizations, rather than only at a Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) or a VHA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC).

The current five regional CCN contracts were implemented in 2018, and many of the contracts expire in 2026. OptumServe holds contracts for Regions 1, 2, and 3. TriWest holds contracts for Regions 4 and 5. About 40% of all VHA care, serving 2.8 . . .
