On February 29, 2024, the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) announced plans to award five Cardinal Care Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) contracts and a specialty foster care contract. All contracts are slated to begin July 1, 2024. They will run for six years, followed by two, two-year renewal options.
