Walmart & McDonald’s Employ Greatest Number Of Working-Age Adult Medicaid Beneficiaries In Select States
An analysis of the employment status of Medicaid beneficiaries in February 2020 in six states (Georgia, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island), found largest shares of employed, working-age, non-disabled adults worked for Walmart or McDonald’s. Walmart employees represented 1.8% of working-age, non-disabled adults on the Medicaid roles; McDonald's represented 1.1%.
