Washington DCYF To Establish A Community Transition Program For Youth In Juvenile Rehabilitation
The Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is creating a community transition services program for youth in Juvenile Rehabilitation (JR). Under this new program, youth in JR who have served at least 60% of their term of confinement and at least 15 weeks of total confinement may be permitted to serve the remaining portion of their term in the community while DCYF monitors the youth’s location and provides services. A person may only be placed in community transition services for the remaining 18 months of their term of confinement.
