Washington Requests Section 1115 Medicaid Waiver Amendment To Cover Former Foster Care Youth From Other States & Continuously Cover CHIP Children Through Age Six
The Washington Health Care Authority (HCA) submitted a proposed amendment to its 1115 Medicaid waiver with two main provisions. One provision seeks to expand coverage options for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the other seeks coverage for former foster youth from other states. HCA submitted the waiver amendment on July 27, 2023. The waiver amendments are part of the state’s Medicaid Transformation Project (MTP).
Through MTP, HCA is able to create and continue to develop projects, activities, and services that improve the state’s health care system. The initial MTP waiver period ended on June 30 . . .
